Question 1

Do I have to change my code to use the email sandbox?

Accepted Answer

Usually not. Point your SMTP settings at the sandbox host with the inbox username and password, or call the REST endpoint if you want more control.

Question 2

Is any email ever delivered to a real recipient?

Accepted Answer

No. Sandbox messages are captured and labelled SIMULATED. Production email is a separate route enabled per environment.

Question 3

How long are messages kept?

Accepted Answer

Captured messages expire on the retention policy of the environment. You can delete messages earlier.
